It's the White Day!
People who watch a lot of ‘school life’ and ‘shoujo’ anime series would be familiar with this event.
Which gift do the otaku girls want to receive most on White day? This list will tell!
1. Dakimakura
Daki means “to embrace or cling” and Makura means “pillow”.
Basically, a bolster/pillow cover with our favourite characters on it, so that we can sleep a little more soundly at night.
2. Manga/Light Novels/Doujin
Nothing beats having a physical copy of a much-loved manga/light novel/doujin.
If you can get a collection-completing edition or a doujin from their favourite artist, even better!
3. Event Tickets
We love attending events, so why not make a date out of it? Plus, that way you won’t have to dig your brain thinking of what merchandise to buy her, she’ll just buy it herself during the event!
4. Anime/Manga-themed Accessories
Quite a number of girls love to accessorize, and otakus have our own tastes as well.
But of course, don’t go making the typical mistake of calling Vocaloid an anime when you present the gift. Do a little research first!
5. Cosplay Materials
None of us girls are born to be a cosplayer. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, just a raw material that they don’t have to source for themselves.
It saves their time, money, and you get the benefit of seeing her in costume!

6. Anime-themed Chocolate
Everybody loves chocolate, especially adorable anime character chocolate!
The molds are surprisingly easy to find online, and ss Amos shares, he once made a Miku chocolate for a girl on White Day using one of those molds.
7. Game Credits
Depending on her tastes, there’s a good chance she’s playing at least one Japanese mobile game.
Support her love for it buy buying her some game credits!
8. Albums/DVDs
It’s the same case with original mangas/light novels/doujin.
Nothing beats owning a physical copy of your favourite anime, or the album of your favourite artist.
Plus points if it’s a band/series that means a lot to her.
9. Figurines
This one is probably the most expensive of the lot, but you can’t really go wrong with it.
We really haven’t met an otaku who hates figurines.
