Sentai Filmworks to offer both on Anime Strike, home video

Sentai Filmworks began streaming English-subtitled trailers for the My Girlfriend is Shobitch and Himōto! Umaru-chan R anime series on Wednesday.

My Girlfriend is Shobitch will premiere on AT-X on October 11 at 24:30 (effectively October 12 at 12:30 a.m.), and will also later air on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, Mie TV Broadcasting, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, Gifu Broadcasting, and BS11.

The anime will stream on Anime Strike in the United States and on select digital outlets in other territories. Sentai Filmworks is also planning a home video release.

Sentai Filmworks describes the story:

When high school student Haruka Shinozaki confesses his feelings to the beautiful and aloof class representative, Akiho Kosaka, the last thing he expected was for her to say “yes.” Like everything else in her diligent life, Kosaka takes dating quite seriously. In an effort to be a good girlfriend, Kosaka decides to meticulously study (and bluntly suggest) all manner of ways to keep Shinozaki sexually satisfied… in the theoretical sense, that is. This innocently lewd relationship is only just beginning!

Nobuyoshi Nagayama (episode director for Hinako Note, Utano☆Princesama Legend Star) is directing the series at diomedea and Studio Blanc. Hideki Shirane (Date A Live, Queen's Blade: Rebellion, Kill Me Baby) is overseeing the scripts, and Shōko Yasuda (Unlimited Fafnir) is designing the characters for animation. Nippon Columbia is producing the music. Aoi Yūki is performing the opening theme song "Eien Labyrinth" (Eternal Labyrinth). Voice actresses Yuki Yagi, Natsumi Yamada, Marin Mizutani, and Miyū Ogura have formed a new unit named pua:re, and they are performing the ending theme "Ai no Himitsu" (The Secret of Love).

Himōto! Umaru-chan R will premiere in Japan on AT-X at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8. It will air later the same evening on Tokyo MX and BS11, and the night of October 11 on ABC Asahi Broadcasting. The show will also stream on some services in Japan beginning on October 12.

The anime will stream in the United States on Anime Strike and in other territories on select digital platforms. Sentai Filmworks is also planning a home video release.

The main staff is returning from the first season, including the anime studio Doga Kobo, director Masahiko Ohta, series script supervisor Takashi Aoshima, and character designer Aya Takano.

The theme song performers will be the same as the first season's. The group SisterS — comprised of Tanaka, Akari Kageyama (Ebina), Haruka Shiraishi (Kirie), and Yurina Furukawa (Sylphynford) — is performing the ending theme song "Umarun Taisō" (Umarun Calisthenics).

The first television anime series premiered in July 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Sentai Filmworks released the anime in North America with an English dub on May 30.

The manga and anime's story centers around Taihei Doma and his little sister Umaru, who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. Everyone may think she is the ideal girl, but she is anything but. "Himōto" is a pun on "imōto" (little sister) and "himono," which means "dried fish," but in slang can refer to a woman who is proper in public but lazy at home.
