News website The Verge revealed on Monday that Netflix plans to produce 30 "new" anime series for release in 2018, as part of its US$8 billion budget for developing and producing original television and film content next year. The company aims for 50% original content in its entire library by the end of 2018.
The anime arriving on Netflix in 2018 include Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden, BONES' A.I.C.O. -Incarnation-, DLE Inc.'s Sword Gai: The Animation, Production I.G's B: The Beginning, LIDEN FILMS' Lost Song, MAPPA's Kakegurui, Science SARU's DEVILMAN crybaby, TMS Entertainment's Baki, Satelight's Cannon Busters, Dwarf Studio's (Domo) Rilakkuma, and Toei Animation's Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya.
