Manga about boy, girl who hate each other launched in September 2016

The December issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine reavealed on Monday that Ayuko Hatta's Bye Bye Liberty manga will end in the magazine's next issue on December 13.

The manga's story centers on Rina Suzuki, a girl who professes to "have no need for love." Her new neighbor is Hibiki Takumi, a schoolmate with whom she shares a mutual dislike. Hibiki tells Rina that he has a stalker, and asks Rina to pretend to be his girlfriend to discourage the stalker. When Rina agrees, Hibiki later steals a kiss from her.

Hatta launched the manga in Bessatsu Margaret in September 2016. Shueisha published the manga's third compiled book volume on September 25.

Hatta launched her Wolf Girl & Black Prince manga in Bessatsu Margaret in 2011, and ended it in May 2016. Shueisha published the manga's 16th and final compiled book volume in the same month. As of May 2016, the manga has 5.4 million copies in print.

The manga inspired a television anime in 2014, as well as a live-action film, which opened in Japan in May 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the series in North America in March 2016.
