Doomsday Clock #6 Cover Teases a Major Watchmen Addition to the Story

Issue #4 of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s DC Universe and Watchmen-centric miniseries Doomsday Clock may have been delayed a month, but that hasn’t stopped Frank from giving eager fans something exciting to hold them over in the meantime: a first look at the cover of Doomsday Clock #6, which features the original Nite Owl, Hollis Mason.

The cover, which Frank revealed on Twitter, depicts several marionette puppets lined up side by side. However, the focal point of the image is Mason, whose juxtaposition to the Marionette raises a number of questions about his possible connection to the series’ recently introduced Charlton Comics pastiche.

Mason, of course, was killed in an attack by the Knot-Tops gang in Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original Watchmen story, so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see him truly resurface in Doomsday Clock. Then again, we’ve already witnessed Doctor Manhattan pluck The Comedian from the Watchmen universe and transplant him in the DCU just moments before his death, so perhaps Blake won’t be the only character who’s given a second chance at life.

Doomsday Clock #4, by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, will go on sale March 28 from DC Comics.
