It's not as if she wanted to hate her child, she just couldn't get anything or anyone to understand her or make her life less stressful. Just because she was rich and popular doesn't mean she can't get sad or lonely, or misunderstood

this is really good story telling with some realistic emotions. at first I thought this lady was just garbage because she neglected and resented her kid, but the subtle story telling showing her life getting forced down the path she was on, the hints at severe post partum depression, the isolation she felt once she had a kid. I had a hard time sticking with this story but it was worth it. 5 stars

splash in some severe post-partem depression and that explains everything. I kinda hated her at first because she was just portrayed as a horrible neglectful mother, but the more the story develops the more you understand about what she's going through and what he's going through and how this is why we have psychotherapists now
