Boom Boom Satellites bassist Masayuki Nakano is producing the song. The song will mark XAI's major debut after winning the the first ever Artist Award at the TOHO Cinderella audition last November. The singer will celebrate her 20th birthday on November 17, the day the film opens in Japan. The website also announced that a prequel novel will ship in Japan on October 25. Gen Urobuchi, who is in charge of the original story and screenplay of the movie, is supervising the novel. Pacific Rim Uprising director Steven S. DeKnight said in an interview with Collider at New York Comic Con that there is a "possibility" of a crossover between Pacific Rim and King Kong or Godzilla. All three titles are produced by Legendary. DeKnight's comment was in response to a question asking if the Pacific Rim Uprising film will have any "Easter Eggs" tying it to Legendary's Monster Universe film franchise, which includes King Kong and Godzilla. A website opened on Friday to tease the announcement of a new work by executive director Shinji Higuchi. The new work will be unveiled at the Tokyo Comic Con event on December 3 at 2:00 p.m. (midnight EST). The site features the Warner Bros. logo. Higuchi is a co-founder of anime studio Gainax, and worked on storyboards and scripts on some of its most notable projects, including Gunbuster, Otaku no Video, and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
