Japanese superhero enthusiasts (otaku) could argue indefinitely — who's the greatest Japanese superhero? It's not possible to categorically identify the greatest. However, the following Japanese superheros have had a huge cultural impact. 1. Ultraman Ultraman isn't a single superhero: there are hundreds of Ultraman collectively known as Ultra Crusaders. They are super-humanoid solar powered giants from space who defend earth from giant monsters and aliens. Ultra Crusaders have numerous superpowers. Their one weakness: they can only stay on earth for 3 to 5 minutes before their power runs out. They must regularly return to space to recharge their batteries. 2018 game has Travis Touchdown traveling through 6 indie games from different developers Grasshopper Manufacture, Marvelous, and Shirogumi unveiled Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, the latest game in Goichi "Suda51" Suda's No More Heroes game series, on Wednesday. The game is slated for release on the Switch in 2018. Nintendo is streaming a trailer for the game. Suda51 teased in January that he is developing a game for the Switch that features Travis Touchdown. At the time, he noted that the game is "heavily influenced" by pro wrestling, and that he had been discussing ideas for the Switch console with the indie game community at different gaming events in Japan in 2016. If there's one thing the U.S. has got down pat, it's superheroes.  Sure, we have our duds (COUGH, Fantastic 4, COUGH) but none are as bad as these foreign ones. 1. The Rapeman — Japan Japan is such a tough culture to figure out. On one hand, they're super respectful towards elders, and value politeness and good manners. Then, they have a superhero like Rapeman, who is a good guy.  He's a high school teacher by day (chilling) and rapist by night. The incredibly talented designer and model from Calgary, Canada paints on her own body to make herself look like 2D characters from TV and comics, including Marvel’s Spider-Man and Cheetara from ThunderCats. Previously a fan of dressing up for cosplay events, Kay discovered she could put her artistic skills to use in transforming her appearance - and only started bodypainting in December last year. The 28-year-old uses a water-based face paint and a special makeup to help it stick. She says she needs 10 to 15 bottles of paint to create just one character, which runs between $80 to $150.
