The official website for the Love Live! franchise announced on Friday that the second season of the Love Live! Sunshine!! anime will premiere on October 7 at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. It will air later the same evening on BS11 and TV Aichi, and the evening of October 10 on TV Hokkaido, SBS, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. A television special will precede the debut of the first episode on September 30 on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. The special will also be livestreamed. The first Love Live! Sunshine!! anime premiered in July 2016. Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the series outside of Japan. The Love Live! Sunshine!! project was first announced in February 2015. The project's three key phrases are "Reader Participation," "Inspired by μ's," and "Seaside Town Setting." The group's name Aqours was chosen by fans by popular vote. When you’ve been a comic book fan for as long as I have, you start to see the repetition of ideas and concepts within the medium; it’s just inevitable when you have a never-ending publication cycle.
