This Is What Your Favorite Video Game Heroines Would Look Like With Real-Woman Bodies

By now, you’ve probably seen the Disney Princesses who were recreated to have realistic faces.

However, those fictitious females aren’t the only ones getting in on the body positive movement these days.

Video game vixens are also getting the same treatment, thanks to creative minds over at Bulimia.com.

If you’re not familiar with Bulimia.com, it’s an online resource for individuals struggling with eating disorders.

Recently, the site noticed a lot of video game heroines have skewed body proportions promoting harmful body image ideals.

In an effort to expose just how unrealistic the bodies of female characters are for the average woman, the site “reverse Photoshopped” some of the most popular examples to show the stark difference between the virtual and reality.

Using the measurements of the average American woman, as reported by the CDC, Bulimia.com reveals more relatable female characters than the ones you control on-screen.

“The difference between the original video game heroines and their more realistic interpretations is hardly subtle,” the site notes.

“In these images, unfeasible waistlines expand, and arms and legs grow wider. Perhaps the changes are especially noticeable since most of these characters are so scarcely dressed.”

Take a look at the pictures below to see the transformed video game heroines.

Lara Croft from Tomb Raider

Cortana from Halo

Bikini Girl from Grand Theft Auto V

Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2

Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy

Nabooru from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It might seem strange to see video game characters with a little extra around the middle, especially given how active they are compared to the average person.

Do you think video games are ready for a comparatively flabby female lead, or no?
