Gotcha. I tend to avoid Chinese romance because of how extra they can be. Too much abuse and outlandish ideas for me. I once read one where there were 4 forced miscarriages and they went back and forth and causing each other to have one. I just couldn't after that. The only one I'm reading right now is Kusuriya no Hitorigoto I think. I'm basically just following this one because I ran out of things to read but I don't think it's horrible.

He didn't help her dad at all, she never even asked. I really don't think you can criticize the female lead for not having any desires for marriage when HE literally married her just for business. He proposed, she has no reason to say no. She was unhappy in said marriage and considering that he knew jack shit about her, he clearly wasn't a good husband. So she divorced him. Perfectly reasonable. And then she went and worked her way up not relying on him at all. I genuinely don't understand why you're so bitter and angry at her when the male lead did far worse and tried to legitimately destroy her life and get her fired when she didn't quit her job just because he said so right after he basically called her a gold digger. Either hate both or hate none, can't only hate the fl when the ml is trashier.
