Company plans physical release Sol Press launched a Kickstarter campaign to localize hiqo-soft's visual novel Sakura Sakura last month. The project is seeking to raise US$24,000 by September 19 in order to localize the visual novel. As of press time the project has earned US$12,857. Rewards for the project include both digital and physical versions of the game for Windows PCs. The digital copy is available with the US$30 reward tier and the physical copy is available at US$40. A collector's edition, at US$80, will include an art book. The physical version will be DRM free and will be all-ages, though backers will be able to switch to the 18+ version in BackerKit at no extra charge. hiqo-soft released the original PC game about a student in a love triangle with two girls named Sakura in 2009. Sol Press formed in February 2017. The company plans to localize light novels and manga in addition to visual novels.

"eOneBook" device emulates physical book, allows switching between English, Japanese Progress Technologies launched a Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday to fund an eBook version of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) manga. The campaign aims to publish the entire manga in both English and Japanese versions on a device Progress Technologies calls an "eOneBook." The device has a high resolution display inside that allows readers to browse through the whole manga and switch between languages. The display is sandwiched between physical paper pages and an interchangeable dust jacket cover, to emulate the physical appearance and feel of a book. The campaign will end on November 11. The campaign has already more than doubled its 3-million-yen (about US$27,000) funding goal. The campaign expects to begin mass production in January, and start shipping the product in February. San Diego-based IDW Publishing announced plans late last year to open an office in Portland, Oregon, that would serve as the base of operations for a new imprint, Woodworks. Now the company has unveiled Full Bleed, a new comics and culture quarterly journal that will debut in December under that banner. Project's "phase two" will also get theatrical release, aims to produce television anime The Kickstarter campaign page for the Under the Dog anime project announced on Thursday that the project will launch a new Kickstarter campaign to produce a live-action short and a new theme song with a music video. The project is described as "phase two" to produce an eventual television anime. The announcement calls the live-action short "Under the Dog episode 0," and the short would feature a voiceover by Asami Seto, the voice actress for the main character Anthea in the anime. Atsushi Isoyama (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Tamako Market planning) would compose the theme song and produce the music video, while Shoko Omori (K-ON! theme songs) would write the lyrics.
