It’s shaping up to be an exciting summer at the theaters for anime fans. In August, though, the big anime event is the premiere of Boruto –Naruto the Movie-, featuring the newest generation of ninjas in manga creator Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto franchise. But many kids fight with their parents while growing up, and it doesn’t look like shinobi families are any exception. As the film’s first full trailer shows that new protagonist Boruto doesn’t exactly get along with his famous father. Toho showed off a short teaser for Boruto back in April, but this week the distributor has released a regular trailer for the film. The film opens with the title of Hokage, the highest rank among the ninja, having been bestowed on Naruto. It’s not a hereditary positon, though, so there’s no guarantee that it will ever passed on to Boruto. That seems just fine by the kid, though, who angrily declares to his dad, “I

Little Glee Monster previously performed theme song for My Hero Academia season 2 This year's 41st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed the new theme song artists on Monday for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series. Little Glee Monster will perform the new opening theme song, and Melofloat will perform the new ending theme song. Both themes will premiere in the show in October. Little Glee Monster previously performed theme songs for Pokémon XY and My Hero Academia season 2. The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on April 5. Viz Media is simulcasting the series on Hulu as it airs in Japan, with new episodes every Wednesday. Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime. This year's 41st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on September 11 that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga and anime franchise is getting a fourth novel that will ship in November. The novel will be a novelization of the "school trip" arc. The first novel in the series shipped on May 2, the second novel shipped on July 4, and the third novel (seen right) shipped on September 4. Kō Shigenobu (F.E.A.R., Tenka Ryōran RPGs) wrote the novels. Masashi Kishimoto, the original creator of the Naruto manga, is credited for the original work alongside Boruto manga artist Mikie Ikemoto and writer Ukyō Kodachi. Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, based on and as a sequel to Kishimoto's Naruto manga. iOS/Android game also getting release in the West Bandai Namco Entertainment released its Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Borutage iOS and Android game in Japan on Tuesday. The game will also get a release in the West. The "fortress action ninja battle" strategy game is free to play with the option to purchase in-game items. Players are able to create a fortress, set traps, and attack fortresses of other players from around Japan. The game features "super high quality character illustrations." The game had a preregistration campaign where those who preregistered received Boruto for the game. Bandai Namco Entertainment previously developed the Naruto Shippūden Ultimate Ninja Blazing (Naruto Shippūden Narutimate Blazing) smartphone game, which received an English release last year.
