Nintendo reportedly plans to appeal verdict A jury in Dallas, Texas decided in favor of iLife Technologies in its patent infringement lawsuit against Nintendo of America on Thursday. The court ordered Nintendo of America to pay US$10 million in damages to iLife for infringing on iLife's motion-sensing patents to create Wii and Wii U controllers. iLife filed the lawsuit in 2013, seeking US$144 million in damages, or US$4 for each of the $36 million Wii systems sold prior to the suit (Nintendo ended production on Wii consoles earlier that year). iLife uses to motion-sensing technology to monitor infants for sudden infant death syndrome and the elderly for falls. Nintendo's position was that iLife's patent was not properly written and therefore was invalid. A Nintendo representative told Rolling Stone that Nintendo disagrees with the verdict, and is seeking to raise the issue with the district court and court of appeals. DOTAMA performs theme song for anime based on, airing alongside Yōkai Ningen Bem The staff of the Yōkai Ningen Bem (Humanoid Monster Bem) 50th anniversary project announced on that the new gag anime Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen and the rebroadcast of the original 1968-1969 anime will premiere in the same time slot on Tokyo MX at 11:30 p.m. on October 4. The shows will also air together on BS11 at 2:00 a.m. on October 10. The staff also revealed that rapper DOTAMA will perform the new anime's theme song "Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen! ~Ningen Mezashite Nani ga Warui~." Tokyo MX and BS11 will also rebroadcast the 2006 remake anime but the staff have not yet revealed when. Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen stars: Tomokazu Sugita as Bem Kana Kurashina as Bera Kenta Suga as Bero ADK is credited with the original work, with NAS and DLE as producers. Video previews modern version of classic Mazinger Z theme song The official website for the upcoming Mazinger Z anime film announced the film's title, Gekijōban Mazinger Z / Infinity (Movie Version Mazinger Z / Infinity), on Thursday. The website also began streaming a trailer, which previews Ichiro Mizuki's new version of his Mazinger Z theme song. The film will open in Japan on January 13, 2018. The film will have a world premiere outside Japan, before the Japanese premiere, but the staff have not announced a date or location. Some footage from the film debuted at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in June. The cast includes: Showtaro Morikubo as Koji Kabuto, the original protagonist of the first Mazinger Z anime, who has now retired from fighting and became a researcher. Studios’ licensed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series, spinoffs were an inevitability — and the latest is Go Go Power Rangers, which fills in the previously untold period between the time where the teenagers with attitudes became Power Rangers, and when they evolved into fully fledged superheroes. The series, from writer Ryan Parrott and artist Dan Mora, has already dropped one bombshell: That there was a sixth member of the group, before Tommy, that wasn’t chosen to be a Power Ranger. According to Nintendo, Mario is no longer a plumber. As spotted by Kotaku, the character’s profile on Nintendo’s official Japanese-language website states that Mario used to be a plumber: All around sporty, whether it’s tennis or baseball, soccer or car racing, he [Mario] does everything cool. As a matter of fact, he also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago… The Nintendo website also features profiles on other prominent characters in the Super Mario Bros. game series, including Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser, Yoshi, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Rosetta, Bowser Jr., Boo, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.
